Virtual Canada Day Celebrations: This Year We’re Celebrating From Home!

Celebrating our great country is a little different this year. Though we are not able to come together, join fellow Canadians for virtual Canada Day experiences with family activities, entertainment, concerts and more. And yes, there will even be virtual fireworks! Here’s a list of all the Canada Day online festivities taking place on July 1.

City of Toronto Virtual Canada Day Celebrations
July 1, 2020
Celebrate Canada’s birthday virtually with music, comedy, dance and virtual fireworks. Enjoy special morning, afternoon and evening shows, download interactive and all-age celebration kits for the whole family or nominate a frontline worker for recognition. The Virtual Canada Day streams will be available on July 1 at 9 a.m. Share a Canadian Pancake Breakfast, enjoy a spectacular showcase of Toronto artists and more! More

Aurora’s Virtual Canada Day Festivities
July 1, 2020
The Town of Aurora’s Canada Day Festivities will be different this year, as some of the components will be offered virtually. There are so many festivities that there will be activities for an entire week! Please check back on the Canada Day page frequently, as new activities are listed such as a Beavertails Cooking Demonstration or the opportunity to use your dance moves at Dance Parties. More


Brampton’s Canada Day Virtual Celebration
July 1, 2020 – 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM
Brampton’s Canada Day celebration traditionally draws thousands of residents and visitors together to celebrate Canada’s birthday. This year, the City will be doing things a little different as Bramptonians celebrate Canada Day online! Beginning at noon, you can find activities, ideas on how to celebrate, entertainment and then at 10 pm, virtual fireworks sponsored by Tim Hortons and powered by snapd HUB. More


Burlington’s Virtual Canada Day Celebrations
July 1, 2020 – 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM
Join us on July 1, 2020, as we host a unique 153rd birthday celebration for our wonderful country! With funding support from the Government of Canada, the City of Burlington is hosting a Virtual Canada Day Celebration with former TV host from MuchMusic and ET Canada, Rick Campanelli. Tune in for special events online, musical guests (by video) and interactive activities you can engage in while practicing physical distancing. More


Downtown Yonge Canada Day 2020!
July 1, 2020
Canada Day 2020 celebrations will continue as we bring you an exciting initiative to collectively enjoy the day from a safe distance from one another. We have a number of activities lined up for you and your family to work on together throughout the day, culminating with a spectacular virtual fireworks display! Special guest, Canadian astronaut, Chris Hadfield will lead the final countdown on July 1st. More


Canada Day the Durham Way

Residents are invited to join an uplifting, virtual celebration of our amazing community by tuning in to Canada Day the Durham Way on July 1. Come together as a community—while practising physical distancing—by tuning in to this first-of-its-kind, virtual Canada Day celebration, which will be available through Facebook Live! More
