I was saddened to hear that Dame Edna passed away last year.
Dame Edna, the beloved comedy icon, is a character created by Australian comedian Barry Humphries. With her larger-than-life personality, outrageous fashion sense, and sharp wit, the renowned comedian icon, Dame Edna, brought joy and laughter to our lives.
Her comedic performances were a source of entertainment for many, and she never failed to put a smile on people's faces, especially for my mom and me as we watched and laughed together.
Barry Humphries stated that Edna "was not a fictional character or drag performer; Edna referred to Humphries as her "entrepreneur" or manager.
With her witty remarks and hilarious antics, she left a lasting impression on her audience and an indelible mark on the world of comedy. She will always be remembered as one of the greatest comedians of all time.
