Ernie Coombs is Mr. Dressup
The other week, I popped in to see the Mr. Dressup exhibit earlier this fall... actually on the last day. Yes, the exhibit has come home to Pickering, where Ernie Coombs once lived.
The exhibit offered a behind-the-scenes look at his iconic life and career.
On a side note, if you were a kid growing up in a certain era, Mr. Dressup was the man in the box who sang songs, made crafts, played dress-up and pulled all sorts of wonderful things from his Tickle Trunk.
And last, but certainly not least, he taught us kindness.
Even adults loved watching him. He was that kind of man who spoke to you as though you'd been friends forever.
Ernie Coombs and his wife, Marlene, lived in Pickering, on the edge of the Rouge Valley. Then in 1994 he became a Canadian citizen.
Here’s a little peek inside the Mr. Dressup exhibit... and a trip down memory lane! ❤️

And if Mr. Dressup brings back some happy childhood memories, you can keep a little of that nostalgia alive with our novelty socks and novelty mug: Mr. Dressup Socks and Mr. Dressup Mug at Danna Bananas. ❤️
