Small Business Saturday 2026: Celebrating 20 Years! 🍌
Small Business Saturday falls on November 28 this year, and it's an extra special one for Danna Bananas. We're celebrating 20 years of making Canadians laugh!
Behind every small business is a story, a family, and a whole lot of hard work. Last year, Rob Banana shared what supporting small businesses means to our family, and I thought his words were worth sharing again.
Take it away, RB! 😊

A Personal Journey: Why Small Businesses Matter
Today, I'm writing a guest post for Danna. I don't often blog, but when I do it's for Danna Bananas. You may wonder, why am I blogging? I want to tell you how important it is to a family like ours when people spend their hard earned money with us because I am the husband of a small business owner.
Navigating Challenges: Shipping and U.S. Tariffs
In 2025, supporting small businesses felt more crucial than ever with the labour disruptions affecting businesses nationwide, particularly those with an online presence. The Canada Post strike created challenges for many small businesses. Since Danna Bananas is an online only business, we've had to switch strategies and figure out other ways. We discovered a few additional nearby shipping providers who work with us.
Sadly, we’ve had to stop shipping to the United States. We love our customers across the border, but changes to U.S. tariffs and the end of the $800 duty-free exemption have made it difficult for us to continue shipping south of the border.
A Special Thank You: Small Business Saturday Discount
For Small Business Saturday 2025, we offered 20% off everything in the store, extending the sale through Cyber Monday, as a way of saying thank you to our customers.
Laughter and Love: The Heart of a Small Business
Danna always makes me laugh when she shows me some of her latest gifts. Here are a few of the latest ones that made me chuckle.
Pickles the Quick Action Party Game
Trump's Small Hand Soap
Top Banana Socks
Of course I had to end with the Top Banana socks because Danna is my Top Banana!
A Call to Action: Support Small Businesses
So get online or go to your favourite local small business and support them this weekend, next week, and every other day of the year. Not only will it put a smile on the face of the business owner, it may also give you a chuckle or two!
Cheers,
Rob Banana!
