DoorDash reveals top 10 delivery trends in Canada.
Canadians have been using delivery apps more than ever this year.
As most would expect, take out delivery has been at its most popular during 2020.
There are over a 1,000 people currently self-isolating and they have to eat somehow.
Popular delivery service DoorDash has released its “Food Trends” for the first six months of the year and it provides a tasty insight into Canadians flavour of choice.
According to DoorDash, burritos reign supreme in Canada, but chicken lettuce wraps and miso soup have also proved popular.
Here’s how the rest of BC’s Top 10 ordered food items breaks down:
- Burritos
- Chicken Lettuce Wraps
- Miso Soup
- Chicken Wings
- Bacon Cheeseburger
- Chicken Quesadilla
- Chips & Guacamole
- Poutine
- Margherita Pizza
- Key Lime Pie
Notably absent from list is the Canadian classic poutine, which also didn’t make the top 10 in Ontario and Nova Scotia, but landed in top spot for Manitoba, of course in its province of origin, Quebec.
Meanwhile, Ontarians skew towards Indian and South Asian fare more, while in PEI the top spot goes to Pad Thai.
In Newfoundland and Labrador something called a Pineapple Taco made the list and Crispy Chicken Sandwiches are tops in Saskatchewan.
