Celebrating Pride!

Honouring diversity and promoting inclusivity is something that is very important to us. We believe in a colourful world where differences are celebrated. Every June, people around the world recognize and celebrate Pride Month, a time for the LGBTQIA+ community to embrace who they are, celebrate their accomplishments, and reflect on their struggles — past and present.

Fed up with police persecution and demanding to live openly and freely as their true selves, members of the queer community began to demonstrate at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, New York City. For two days, people marched in the streets to be seen for the human beings they are. This event was the birth of the LGBTQ+ Pride celebration.

Regardless of who you are or who you are with, gay rights, trans rights, and the rights of so many marginalized communities are under increasing attack in this day and age. Why? This is not right or love! We need to change, accept, and include! Fullstop!

Here are some suggestions:

#1: Educate yourself on the significance of Pride and the struggles the LGBTQ2S+ community faces.

#2. Understand and use the correct pronouns (and if you don’t know them, ask).

#3. Let's keep teaching kids about gender identity. It creates understanding for different identities and only reaffirms who they already are.

#4. Be proud of who you are!

#5. Educate yourself, and then colour the greatest LGBTQ+ celebrity icon in the Loud & Proud Colouring Book.

#6. Demonstrate a commitment to authentic allyship throughout the year.

Pride is a celebration of identity, gender, and sexuality.

It’s a time for a positive change, and Pride Month is where we begin.

What People Think Pride Is

 I love this!

I stand in solidarity with the Rainbow Flag...
For me it represents respect for an inclusive and diverse humanity.
It also represents freedom and fundamental human rights.
At a time when so much division, bigotry and polarity exists.. we need to find middle ground.
Listening as well as talking.
Bridges rather than divides.
Love to ALL and for ALL!!
