Apparently so! It seems that there is a day dedicated to everything nowadays. We would be remiss if Danna Bananas didn’t pay tribute to this fruit today.
If you’re bananas about bananas, today is your day too! Get ready to peel back the layers of fun and enjoy this sweet, yellow delight.
There is a day for everything...
Today we celebrate the only fruit that doubles as a comedy prop and a phone. Remember, a banana a day keeps the doctor away... mostly because they slip on the peel before reaching your house (remember Doc from Little House On The Prairie? 😉).
Ever tried flame-grilled bananas? It’s like regular grilled bananas, but with 100% more chance of setting off your smoke alarm. Safety tip: Don’t try to put out a banana fire with more bananas... it just makes the fire more potassium-powered.

The Name Game: Danna Like Banana
Besides its deliciousness, another reason the word banana is important to me is that it has helped people pronounce my name, Danna, correctly since I was a wee one. My parents thought they were making things crystal clear by spelling it with two n’s… a built-in pronunciation guide, or so they hoped! But more often than not, I’d still get called Dana... turns out bananas were the better teacher 😉. When someone would ask, “What’s your name?” and guess “Dana?” I’d clarify by saying, “Danna... like banana,” so they could hear the rhyme and get it right.

Funny enough, friends I’ve met who are named Dana always get my name right straight away… so there you go. Danna is cool. 😎 But just like me, they sometimes get called Danna by other folks... so I guess the mix-up goes both ways!
Going Bananas in Business
So when it came time to launch my business, I chose the name Que Danna Bananas (with an “s”) because I needed something fun, quirky, and that screamed “funny gifts.” And really, what better fruit to build a funny business on? After all, bananas always know how to split a crowd with laughter. 🍌😂

To all you banana bread bakers out there... especially during those slower times of COVID (though for me, time didn’t slow down, it sped up)... we appreciate you for giving overripe bananas a second chance at life. You’re basically fruit necromancers. I tried making bread... sourdough, not banana - during that period. It turned into a cooking project that took longer than expected… like a month. Kidding, kidding! Or am I? Lesson learned: just buy bread from the real bakers, because you are the true masters of the loaf. 🥖👏
