Bike To Work Day

Today, May 27th is BikeToWorkDay.

This is the day to dump your car and tune up the two wheeler and bike to work or school. Why, you ask? It is not only healthy for yourself but for the environment too.

As Wikipedia states:

“Bike to Work Day is an annual event held on various days in the Spring across the United StatesCanada, Europe, Asia and other places, that promotes the bicycle as an option for commuting to work (bicycle commuting).

Bike Week is the week that includes the Bike-to-Work Day, in May, and the World Bicycle Day, on June 3.”

“Leading up to Bike to Work Day, national, regional, and local bicycle advocacy groups encourage people to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative to driving by providing route information and tips for new bicycle commuters. Further, the American Medical Association has endorsed Bike to Work Day as part of its push to encourage active transportation.[2][3] The event is supported by many organizations, from local bike shops and restaurants to municipalities and transit authorities. “

We have compiled a list on why biking to work or school is well worth the movement of your legs.

Bike Balls for bike to work day, World Bicycle Day and Father's Day

For a bike light, Danna Bananas has a suggestion that is scrotally cool so Bike Riders rejoice!

Not only are the Bike Balls functional but they are a totally hilarious too!

These bike light balls are designed to look and dangle like the human scrotum. They will light up your commute and make it much safer by alerting drivers to your presence. Just give them a gentle squeeze to turn them on and a gentle squeeze like that to signal different light modes.

Remember to light up your Bike Life!
